Hippies Brew Reviews

Small expansion of the original, same good coffee. A little sweet because they use sweet chocolate and other ingredients, but worth the sugar bud explosion when you need a happy pick me up. The owner is there with a good attitude and tattoos to keep you entertained while she makes your drink. 4 tables of 4 chairs and a stand up bar for 3. Awesome decor!

It was $12.50 for 2 shmediums. I got the gangster paradise, a coconut mint latte. It was pretty good, very minty. My boyfriend got the cold brew. "It's cold brewing" In my old review I said I'm excited to try their food coming soon. I saw someone post a picture of the menu and thought their food items were ready. I was sad to see they were still "coming soon". Still waiting on the food to come

I've been to the Hayward location plenty of times, but this location is superior in my opinion. I love the decor and ambience of this particular store. The workers are so enthusiastic and kind. I got the mint, drip, which tastes exactly like Philz mint Mojito but somehow even better! It was creamy, minty and refreshing after a hike at Lake chabot. My friend enjoyed their peppermint patty as well. Great drinks and customer service!

I can't stand that Hippies Brew is such a drive from us now. We used to have the Smith Street location in UC two minutes away from us. Then the other UC location closed. Now the Hayward Express location has closed down now too. On top of that, apparently Ice Loves Coco, arguably their most popular drink and my go to order, is gone forever. Thankfully the Rick Ross is still around. I've always been a HB stan but the emotional roller coasters are too much! Lol. Please protect the San Leandro location at all costs. Keep supporting small business!

I visited this location on a late Sunday morning to sit on my laptop for a bit. It wasn't too busy and I was able to find a table to sit at while I got some work done. The workers were also very nice. I ordered the H2 Da Izzo and the McLovin Muffin. The coffee was good, just enough hazelnut flavor and sweetness. The breakfast sandwich was also good you could tell it was homemade and not frozen. This location is a bit small but as long as it's not too busy it's a nice place to sit and enjoy coffee with friends or sit and get some work done. I would definitely return

It says a lot about an establishment when the owner(?) takes time to speak with customers, especially at a coffee shop -- which tends to generally be busy. Customer service was pretty laid back -- There was an issue with the card paying service and they accepted Zelle or cash. Pretty cool they had back up options cause I did not carry any cash and the closest ATM charged that darn fee. They gave great recommendations and even asked me to try a fruity pebbles drink they were experimenting with. I had my dog with me and sat outside and they said it was okay for me to be inside but Agave can get quite hectic if he smells food. And the inside smelled quite yummy (although just syrups and drinks). Their Yonce always hits the spot -- I'm not sure how many grams of sugar are in it but I don't complain. Would be amazing if they made a monk fruit sugar one. Perfect blend of caramel and white chocolate, it's a good competitor to their Rick Ross. Overall, nice people. Good drinks. Looking forward to coming back soon.
